This paper intends to reflect on the use of technological know-how and its function in subjectivity, placing it as one of the ways of response to the discontent that civilization imposes on the living. The dystopian scenario, offered by the British series Black Mirror in his episode "USS Callister" (E1 T4), is taken as a pretext to consider the problem from some psychoanalytic and philosophical notions.
